Motherwell Football Club Signs Deal with Online Bookmaker
The Scottish Motherwell FC has signed a lucrative two-year deal with online bookmaker, Jaxx UK, the English subsidiary of Fluxx AG. The deal will see the two parties set up a co-branded website, where Motherwell fans can place bets and enjoy information related to their favorite team. The agreement, worth £200,000 per season, means that Jaxx UK will provide the team with shirts and run an advertising campaign from its Fir Park football ground.
Mark Irvine, Managing Director of JAXX UK Ltd, was clearly satisfied with the deal and said after the signing: “Since we launched in the UK in 2007, we have worked to expand our network of football affiliations, signing betting partnership deals with West Ham and Newcastle United, but I was particularly keen to secure a presence in Scotland. The Motherwell deal is a significant step in our brand development and we'll be working very closely with the club to make the partnership a success.”
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Motherwell Football Club, Ian Stillie, said: “The fans are paramount to the application of the Motherwell brand and we felt the commitment to consistently high quality offered by Jaxx fitted well with our own values. The dedicated club betting page will also be a welcome addition to our online offering and we're looking forward to a successful long-term partnership.”
Betsson and Playtech Join Casino Forces
It was announced this week that industry-leader software company, Playtech has entered into an agreement with the Swedish online gaming firm, Bettson that will see the former provide Bettson’s online casinos with a full portfolio of 110 top-of-the-range games. While it was previously thought that Playtech’s selection would replace Net Entertainment’s Casino Module that is currently found at Bettson sites, this fact was quickly corrected to convey that the Playtech package would be offered side by side with the Casino Module.
Thomas Kalita, CEO of Betsson Malta Ltd said: "We are delighted to be able to add yet another quality product to our broad offering. Playtech's proven track record as a software supplier, supported by its wide range of languages is of great essence to Betsson especially when expanding into new territories.”
The Playtech software will be available on the Bettson site, as well as two of its brand casino sites, CherryCasino.com and CasinoEuro.com. The deal also allows the integration of Playtech’s back-end system.
Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech, said about the new deal: “We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Betsson, one of the largest online gaming operators in Europe, and look forward to a productive working relationship. The agreement is further evidence of Playtech's ability to add high profile licensees to its client base whilst it also extends the Group's customer reach and appeal in the valuable European gaming market.”
