Luck of the Irish for William Hill Online Slot Player
What better online slot game to hand over a massive six figure jackpot than one named Leprechaun’s Luck! A Torquay resident, Peter Brown headed over to William Hill online casino to try his luck at the slot games and after laying down just a single pound, he found himself the lucky winner of £345,000. Brown’s windfall on the five reel and 20 pay line slot game comes after playing at William Hill Casino for ten years. “I’m still in shock and I just can’t believe it,” said the 44-year-old Brown, who works as a newsagent. “I thought I was dreaming when it came up on the screen that I’d won and it wasn’t until someone from WilliamHill.com rang to congratulate me that it started to sink in.”
Brown said that although he is not sure what he is going to do with all the money, he fancies buying himself a new jeep and perhaps a brand new 3D television.
A spokesperson for William Hill Online, Tony Kenny said: “Peter definitely has the luck of the Irish. To turn one pound into £345,253 is just phenomenal. We’re delighted for Peter and we’d like to wish him all the best with his new-found fortune.”
Five Hundred Games at Red Flush Casino… and Counting
It isn’t every day that an online casino can boast to offering its players over five hundred games to choose from, but that was the case with Red Flush Casino this week after the site made an announcement to the industry. The Microgaming powered Red Flush Casino said that it had passed the incredible milestone but also said that it was not stopping there. The site promised to continue updating its site as frequently as possible with new and exciting titles, as they were released by software provider, Microgaming.
“We want to be the online casino that offers the biggest and best selection of games,” said Alex Roberts, the Promotions Manager for Red Flush Casino. “We can confidently say that we are delivering on this and that we will continue to do so.”
Red Flush Casino boasts games such as slots, including progressive slot games, blackjack, poker, video poker and much, much more. “There is no lack in variety at RedFlushCasino.com,” said Roberts. “From our games to promotions and bonuses, we give our players everything they expect to find at a world-class online casino.”
Godfather of Poker, Doyle Brunson, Leaves DoyleRoom.com
Doyle Brunson, the godfather of poker, and veteran poker player announced this week that he is taking a step back from the online poker room that carries his name, Doyles Room, more than likely in fear of the clampdown by US authorities on poker rooms in recent weeks. Speaking to the media last week, Brunson said: “Reluctantly, I have decided to terminate my endorsement contract with Doylesroom.com. It pains me to leave at this time. I have aspirations of re-entering the online poker business when the United States Government passes legislation that officially legalizes online poker sites. Doylesroom management has decided to continue to serve U.S. customers. Although they believe they have the right to market the name Doylesroom and to use my name and likeness for a period of time, I have asked them not to.”
However, not everybody is sure of what Brunson’s intentions really are. He has managed to confuse the industry quite a bit with the fact that he appeared at the Bellagio of Friday wearing a Doyles Room T-shirt, and his subsequent refusal to comment any further on his departure from the poker room.
Paddy Power Reports on “Record Year”
Paddy Power, the Irish online gambling group, released its interim financial statement for the year up until May 15 and announced that it has seen a 21% year on year growth in revenues. The Chairman of the group, Nigel Northridge, said that last year was “a record year” for Paddy Power, with its online arm experiencing a 33% growth in revenues. Retail services grew 7% in comparison to the same period in 2010, he said.
“Growth in Australia has, as expected, moderated compared to last year although a number of factors should positively impact growth later this year,” said Northridge. “UK retail has achieved strong growth in like-for-like revenues and the pace of new openings has accelerated. Irish retail has been impacted by poor sporting results but remains well positioned to grow market share.”
Northridge said that the comparative period for the remainder of the year benefited from the World Cup and favorable sports results. However, according to the chairman, the strong, underlying momentum of Paddy Power should help offset these factors. Northridge said that the group’s board looks forward to the rest of 2011 – and beyond – with confidence.
