An Israeli e-commerce company, known as DSNR, is set to offer online gambling services to its customers in the coming months. Owned by Daniel Scalosub and Nino Ransenberg, DSNR plans to market online poker games in addition to its current portfolio of internet lotteries. The Hebrew daily, Yedioth Aharonot, noted that the company plans to expand to offer blackjack and roulette games in the future.

Israel is considered a world leader in the development of online gambling software and platforms. Many of the top companies in the industry originated from this state, including the wildly successful 888.com.

$8-million Online Casino Jackpot Won!

The staggering amount of $8-million was won this week at an InterCasino online gambling site on the popular Millionaire’s Club Progressive Slot game. The site’s management was thrilled by the news and stated that “this win re-enforces the fact that InterCasino is the premier online destination for all players, whether they are new to online gaming or experienced high rollers.” It was originally reported that the amount won was just under $6-million – already a record-breaking sum. However, InterCasino was proud to confirm that the amount was in fact $8-million, and not as previously believed.

And who is the lucky winner? Just to prove that dreams really do come true, the winner of the progressive jackpot is a factory worker who was playing the game for the first time in his life. He and his family will be flying in the near future to London to collect his prize – no small feat for a man who has never traveled more than 50 km from his hometown. Needless to say, the winner is still in a state of shock over his unbelievable win.

In the meantime, InterCasino has set its progressive jackpot back to a respectable $2-million and players will no doubt be flocking to the sites that offer this jackpot in the hope that they will become the next record breakers in the very near future.

Neteller Hearing in Fifth Continuance

Will the charges against the founders of Neteller ever be brought to trial? This week, the case reached its fifth continuance – with a new date set for the first week of June. The Department of Justice postponed the case against Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre yet again since the two were arrested in January of this year. They have been charged with racketeering and money laundering, as well as other crimes related to online gambling.

Lawrence and Lefebvre founded the successful e-wallet company, Neteller several years ago and created its base in the Isle of Mann. In recent years, Neteller has been the number one choice of online casino players who found that the company offered a safe, discreet and secure method of payment for their internet gaming fun. Due to the arrest, Neteller suspended all its operations in the United States. Lawrence and Lefebvre were held on $5-million bonds and later released. They are restricted to travel within the United States only and may not leave the country’s borders until the trial commences.

Online Bingo the Big Winner in U.K. Smoking Ban

When a public smoking ban comes into effect in the United Kingdom in July of this year, many smokers will be looking for an alternative to their bingo fun - traditionally played in local bingo halls across the country. A recent survey published by the gambling group, St. Minver, suggests that 63% of these players will be taking their bingo entertainment to online bingo sites because of the new smoking law. Bingo is hugely popular in the U.K. and online bingo is all the rage and growing in popularity. Thousands of these sites operate in the U.K alone and thousands more across the globe.
