Double Progressive Jackpot Win at Red Flush Casino

A player who joined Red Flush Casino a few months ago was thrilled when his playing regularly at the site finally paid off, and he won a $14,000 progressive jackpot on the Poker Ride card game at this Microgaming powered site. But that was only the beginning of RN’s lucky streak. The man continued playing at Red Flush Casino for another 10 days before trying his fortunes on Mega Moolah progressive slot game – and bagging the $50,000 progressive jackpot!

“I cannot explain how happy I am,” said the player. “This is the biggest amount I’ve ever won. I was about to try a different game when all of a sudden I won. I cannot believe my luck. I have managed to win twice and hope that my lucky streak continues.”

The progressive jackpots on the Poker Ride and Mega Moolah games are linked to the Progressive Jackpot Network run by Microgaming online casino software provider. The network has paid out literally hundreds of millions of dollars to lucky players since it was established and is continuing to do so at a regular pace, if this month’s two wins at Red Flush online casino are anything to go by.

Full Tilt’s Founder Arrested in New York

It was a dramatic day for the online poker industry, after it was reported that the founder of Full Tilt Poker, Raymond Bitar, flew into New York from Ireland on Monday and handed himself in to US authorities. Bitar has not been in the United States since the Department of Justice seized the internet domains of sites such as Full Tilt Poker, Poker Stars and Absolute Poker in April 2011. Since then, Full Tilt Poker players have had to endure over a year of speculation regarding the fate of the millions still owed to them.

Bitar has been accused of running a Ponzi scheme by defrauding players and not paying them out, all the while paying its directors over $440 million. Bitar has denied these claims and said that he had spent these past months in negotiations with French investors in a bid to sell the company and have the funds available to pay out players. The talks with Groupe Bernard Tapie eventually fell through, but it is now believed that talks with Poker Stars, the rival online poker room, may be reaching their final stages for a massive acquisition deal.

Delaware Approves Online Gambling

The state of Delaware approved online gambling in groundbreaking legislation this week, also opening the doors for more venues to offer sports betting. The bill was approved by a 14-6 vote in the Senate on Wednesday. Residents of the state will now be able to play slots and table games online, and extends keno to over 100 sites outside of Delaware’s three existing casinos. In addition, residents will be allowed to wager on NFL football at multiple locations.

In return for the greater competition levels, the existing casinos will see around $4 million in slot machine fees dropped, while table game fees will be dropped from $6.75 million to $3 million. Casinos have pledged to spend these savings on traditional business expenses such as capital improvements and marketing. While not everyone was happy with the extended gambling opportunities, it is believed that without the bill, the gambling industry in Delaware would stagnate due to competition from neighboring states, and layoffs at Delaware casinos would be next on the cards.
