WinADay Casino Celebrates Four Years

WinADay Casino is in the throes of its birthday celebrations, marking four successful years in the industry. The gaming site offers players the opportunity to enjoy retro-looking slot games and video games on a state of the art platform, and a fast growing progressive jackpot which is hit frequently by lucky players.

Remembering back to the opening of the site four years ago, the manager of WinADay Casino, Michael Hilary said: “We had a three dimensional lobby with just two slot games in it and animated casino staff moving about between them.”

“We focused on developing and adding new games,” he continued. “Over the last four years we’ve created more than 30 new games. We got to a point awhile back where the 3D lobby idea just wasn’t working anymore. There was no room to squeeze in any more games so we had to remodel!”

WinADay Casino remains a highly popular choice for online gamblers seeking innovative, one-of-a-kind casino games on a reputable, stand alone site, as well as a realistic chance to win the progressive jackpot. The prize for the current jackpot is just under $100,000.

Playtech Enters Social Gaming Arena

Playtech announced this week that it was moving into the social gaming arena by signing an agreement with Skywind Holdings Ltd. The agreement will result in a wide range of social gaming and real money software and will take Playtech into the fast growing world of gaming through social networks such as Facebook.

“Social gaming has experienced significant growth over the last two years and is now a multi-billion dollar market with revenues generated in a number of ways, including the real money purchase by end users of social currency such as Facebook credits,” said the group in a statement.

"Playtech has been monitoring developments in the social gaming arena closely, analyzing a number of ways to enter the market. Current licensees and third party brand owners are seeking to leverage their online gambling assets and skills into this attractive model. The software license agreement provides the Company with access to a broad range of social gaming platforms and products in addition to complementary real money products giving Playtech a unique position in the market.”

Playtech revealed that the Skywind platforms and products already have over 1.5 million monthly active users, and include games such as Slotsfarm and Raminoz.

Californians Want Online Poker

The California Online Poker Association, a coalition of gaming tribes and terrestrial card rooms, released the results of a study which the group commissioned, showing just how strong support for online poker is in the state. According to the findings, 76% of Californians want legalized online poker, but only 33% supported other betting games such as those played at online casinos. Most were opposed to social games being played for real money.

“Voters don’t want California to become the Wild West of gaming,” a pollster Ben Tulchin commented. “Voters are OK with permitting it. But there have to be restrictions.”

Yesterday, Senator Rod White opted to pull his Senate Bill 1463 from a Senate Governmental Organization committee vote, despite the fact that he had spent months in wrangling and amendments to make the bill acceptable to opponents. Wright’s bill, which would have seen online poker legalized and regulated in California, did not have sufficient support from tribal groups who argue, among other things, that the bill violates treaties which they have with the state regarding gambling revenue.
