Slotland Jackpot Nearing Record High

Slotland, the popular online casino site which works with its proprietary software, is best known in the industry for its fast-growing, frequently-hitting progressive jackpot. The site announced this week that the jackpot is nearing a record amount, and could soon pass the $200,000 mark – if nobody hits it in the next day or two. Players at Slotland.com are particularly excited about this jackpot because it usually hits at around $150,000. The biggest payout on this jackpot, which is linked to the majority of games at the online casino, has been $207,241 – hit in November when one lucky player tried his luck on the Treasure Box slot game.

Slotland Manager, Michael Hilary, commented on the fast growing progressive jackpot and said:

“Players that have been playing with us for many years know that our jackpot is usually won every six to eight weeks, almost like clockwork. The last big win was in April, though, so lots of players feel it’s well overdue for a hit. Of course it’s totally random, but it’s usually hit not long after it reaches $150,000. So anyway you look at it we just have a feeling we’ll be announcing another jackpot winner very soon!”

Republicans Make Stance on Internet Gambling Clear

Online gambling is off the tables for the US Republicans. That is the message made clear by the political party in its political platform which was released ahead of the November elections. In a section entitled “Renewing American Values”, the party highlighted the progress made in the US online gambling industry after the Department of Justice clarified that the Wire Act of 1961 applied only to sports betting in the country, and not lotteries, casinos and poker. There was no ambiguity for the Republicans regarding their stance on internet gambling:

“Millions of Americans suffer from problem or pathological gambling that can destroy families,” read the statement. “We support the prohibition of gambling over the Internet and call for the reversal of the Justice Department’s decision distorting the formerly accepted meaning of the Wire Act that could open the door to Internet betting.”

Gambling proponents have come out publicly against the Republicans’ official stance on internet gambling, with Rich Muny of the Poker Players Alliance admitting that “for every two steps forward, we do have the occasional step back.”
