NJ Governor Comments on Sports Betting Bill

Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, has thrown cold water on hopes that legalized online sports betting and gambling will be introduced in the state. In a radio interview, the governor told a caller who asked him about whether he will sign in a bill pending a decision about online gambling, that he hasn’t “made a final decision yet.” He also said that he was concerned about offering online gambling from Atlantic City casinos and worried about problem gambling that could result from it. “I’m also really concerned about setting up a whole new generation of addicted gamblers,” he said in the interview. “You know, if you can sit on the edge on your bed on your laptop and gamble away the paycheck — that’s a lot different than making the decision to go down to Atlantic City.”

The bill awaiting Chris Christie’s decision will allow intrastate gambling in the Garden State, but will allow other regulated states to eventually pool their players with Nevada’s, such as an idea recently proposed by Nevada’s authorities.

New Playtech Roulette Debuts

Online casino software provider, Playtech has introduced a super new roulette game that combines one of the most popular brands ever brought online – Marvel superheroes! The new Marvel Roulette by Playtech is played according to the usual European Roulette format - ie. numbers 1 – 36, with a single zero. However, the game differs in that it also carries a Marvel Bonus bet, as well as two extra Marvel features.

The game boasts a Marvel Bonus which is triggered when a bet is placed on the Marvel Bonus position and the ball falls into that slot. This bonus is in the form of a three reel slot, with the objective being to land three of the same Marvel symbols on the reels, with guaranteed payouts.

The second feature is a Marvel Mystery Jackpot which can be triggered randomly (in the same way that happens in Marvel slot games), with the chance to win one of four jackpots (Power, Extra Power, Super Power and Ultimate Power).

Marvel Roulette is a great way to come into contact with famous superheroes such as Captain America, Fantastic Four and Iron Man, and still enjoy Playtech’s famous animations and graphics through its table games such as Roulette.

Mega Fortune Slot Jackpot Hits for EUR 17.8 Million

The wildly popular Mega Fortune video slot game, Mega Fortune, broke another world record this past weekend when its progressive jackpot was hit for the incredible sum of EUR 17.8 million. This amount, won by a 40 old man from Finland, surpassed the previous record for the highest sum ever won on an online slot game by EUR 6 million.

The jackpot was hit at the Net Ent powered online casino, Paf.com, and the head of marketing for this site, Anders Sims said about the big win: “Since this jackpot was pooled, which means that it is shared by several gaming companies, we are naturally very happy about the fact that the jackpot was again won by one of our customers. Paf players seem to have an incredibly good flow at the moment.”

“This is the second time that Net Entertainment’s games have given a winner the world’s largest global online jackpot,” said Per Eriksson, the CEO and President of Net Entertainment. “The high liquidity that Net Entertainment’s progressive slots offers results in very rapid jackpot build-up, and is a very good tool for the operators to attract players. We congratulate the winner and PAF for this big win, and look forward to hopefully making many more players millionaires in the future.
