POLi

POLi

POLi is an online payment service that can be used in order to pay online from your bank account into your online casino account. POLi is an Australian based service that originally operated in only three countries – Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. NETeller has become a strategic investor in POLi's operator, Centricom. It is also a joint venture investor in the company that was set up in order to distribute the POLi service within Europe. It is not available to US online casino players. In 2006, NETeller made this alliance with Centicom in order to attempt to reduce the proportion of e-wallet top-ups using credit cards.

How to Use POLi

In order to use POLi to transfer money to your online casino account, go to the bank in the casino lobby. Select the POLi deposit option and then select the amount that you would like to deposit. If this is the first time that you are using POLi, you will need to sign up. The fees for using POLi are limited. There is no credit card surcharge as payments are made directly from your bank account. The fees that you will be charged will be whatever fee your bank usually charges for the "Pay Anyone" option within their Internet banking service.

Advantages of POLi

The greatest advantage of using POLi to fund your online casino account is that you are paying directly from your bank account using your Internet banking facility. This is an excellent option for those who do not wish to use their credit cards to fund their online casino account. It also makes online casino account funding an option for those people who do not own a credit card. The service is smooth and fast. The payments that you make are debited instantly from your bank account and the casino is immediately notified that a payment has occurred.

As POLi is linked directly to your bank account, you can expect the same level of confidentiality and security that you would expect from using Internet banking. All of your personal and financial details are kept safe and secure. The following banks can be used: ANZ, Bank of Queensland, BankWest, Commonwealth Bank, National Australia Bank, St George, Suncorp Metway and Westpac. Within Europe, the following banks can be used with POLi: Barclays, HSBC, NatWest, LLoydsTSB, Halifax, RBS and First Direct. When using POLi in the UK, payments are available only via NETBANX which is an electronic payments processor.

There are a number of advantages for online merchants, as well as customers. There are very low decline rates when using POLi. It is less expensive than credit card processing. There is a very low repudiation risk because POLi provides real-time authorization of fund transfers. It also reduces the risk of bad debt and prevents possibilities of fraud as merchants do not have to store customer's personal or financial information and they do not require any credit card information either. With all the advantages for both customers and merchants, it is no wonder that POLi is growing in popularity.
